Never say never.
I have repeatedly expressed my disinterest in having my own business. I didn’t feel like that was the plan for my life. Fortunately, my plans are irrelevant in light of God’s plan for me.
I learned about Bezalel during a Bible study. I was deep in the journey of the Israelites after their freedom from Egypt while wrestling with the idea of business ownership and filing my LLC. I was inexplicably dragging my feet on submitting the paperwork — until Bezalel came into my life.
Bezalel was appointed by God to be the very first artisan of Scripture — entrusted with designing and crafting beauty for God’s dwelling place. “See, I have called by name Bezalel… and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge, and with all kinds of craftsmanship.” — Exodus 31:2–3
That was it — that was the word I needed.
Do I feel like the Master Designer of Metro Detroit? Absolutely not. I am blessed to be surrounded by talented craftsmen — and craftswomen — many of whom I consider mentors and partners. But in that moment, and in the days that followed, I felt encouraged to take this leap for my family and for myself.
We live in a world where it is far too easy to critique ourselves and only see imperfections in the mirror — and that is not the example I want to set for my children. We are designed with purpose, created to do great things with excellence and joy.
Bezalel reminds me that design is more than what we see — it’s how we live within it. I look forward to serving the individuals and families that God will bring to my door, creating spaces that feel intentional, welcoming, and deeply personal.
My name is Jennifer, and I genuinely enjoy assembling IKEA furniture.
I graduated in 2015 with my BFA in Interior Design from Wayne State University in Detroit. I became a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and began my career as a Design Consultant at Virginia Tile Company. Working in the showroom allowed me to collaborate closely with homeowners and fellow designers — helping them select materials and bring their tile visions to life.
My career evolved into a role on the Customer Service team, where I dove deeper into the installation side of design and procurement. Learning the technical processes only strengthened my love for practical, hands-on solutions — especially for the DIY homeowner.
When the pandemic hit, I stepped away from Virginia Tile to embrace stay-at-home mom life with my eldest son. During that season, I found joy designing for friends and family while my own family continued to grow. After my daughter was born, I returned to the industry as part of a design firm in Ferndale — wearing many hats as design assistant, office manager, product procurement lead, and invoicing coordinator. I am so grateful for every role and the knowledge I gathered along the way.
I married my husband, whom I met at Wayne State, in 2018 and together we began building our family, rooted in love and faith. Three crazy dogs, three incredible babies, and three houses later — all I can say is: thank You, God, for this beautiful life.
My home is the best kind of loud — filled with laughter, music, and the joyful chaos of childhood. My sofas are jumped on (because how else do you fly?), and my kitchen is the never-quiet heart of our home. While I have big dreams for every room, I’m embracing each stage along the journey.
“Life isn’t waiting for the renovation to be finished — it’s happening right now.”
I know firsthand how important it is for a home to feel personal and purposeful — to support a family’s daily rhythm without sacrificing beauty. That’s why I’m passionate about partnering with families who want spaces that support their rhythm, honor their personality, and evolve with them over time.
Whether you’re dreaming big and going all-in or rolling up your sleeves and tackling it DIY-style, I’m here to guide you with a balance of expertise, encouragement, and genuine care. Together, we’ll design a home that welcomes you in, celebrates who you are, and continues to grow beautifully with every new season.
